In 2021, 122,933 children between the ages of 0-12 years were injured in motor vehicle collisions, 746 of which fatally, in the United States. One in three children, a third, who were fatally injured were not restrained. Guardians can schedule a “car seat checkup” with a certified child passenger safety technician. A checkup typically takes about 30 minutes per child seat. During a checkup the seat will be checked for proper fit in the vehicle, proper fit to the child, expiration, and any recalls. Guardians are expected to be present and proactive in the checkup. This service is offered FREE to anyone who requests it.
