Community Events & Fundraisers
The Hermitage Fire Department prides itself in participating in many community activities. Whether it is fire education, public relations at local businesses or organizations, or our own fundraisers, we strive to be as active and visible as possible within our communtiy. We feel that taking part in these events lets people see first hand the hard work and pride we take in our department. It also enables the citizens to see first hand how their continued support through donations is put to good use.
Annual Family Steak Fry - Gun Raffle - Car Cruise
Our staple fundraiser takes place on the third Saturday in August each year, and is held at the Masonic Lodge #810 (E. State Street & S. Neshannock Road).
Guests enjoy a 2lb steak dinner with all the trimmings, a HUGE Chinese Auction, Classic Car Cruise, and Gun Raffle, among other things. The fun starts at 1pm and continues through the afternon until 7pm. Bring the whole family to enjoy the food, fun, and great atmosphere. Click the picture below for more information.
Father's Day Car Show
Each year, the City plays host to a huge, nationally-recognized car show. Over 25,000 people visit during the day to enjoy over 500 antique, classic, and custom cars.
The Hermitage Fire Department staffs a tent in front of Kilgore's Towing, offering cold water to the spectators.
The Department utilizes this event as an opportunity to meet with the public one-on-one, and help them to better understand our services.

Holiday Light-Up Parade
This annual event started in 1998 and features over 70 participants in various categories competing for over $2,500 in awards and cash prizes.
The parade begins at the intersection of East State Street and North Kerrwood Drive, travels east to the intersection of East State Street and Route 18, turn left and proceeds to the entrance of the Hermitage Middle School. The Hermitage Fire Department faithfully participates in this event yearly with an energetic and exciting display of lights and music on one of our fire trucks.
