About THE Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department
The Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department consists of approximately 45 active members covering over 40 square miles and a population over 16,000 people. This is completed from four stations located throughout our community.
Fire Suppression
The Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department responds to all reported fires in the City of Hermitage and by request to surrounding communities to preform fire suppression activities.
Fire Prevention
The Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department participates in various events and activities throughout the year promoting safe practices to prevent fires and reduce the number of fire related injuries and deaths.
Rescue
The Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department responds to any technical rescue reported in the City of Hermitage and by request to surrounding communities including vehicle extrications, water rescue, structural collapse, and more.
What is community connect?
Community Connect allows residents and business owners to create a profile in our mobile dispatching software and reporting system. We use this system when responding to emergencies and to document incidents. When the public creates a profile they can provide our responders with vital information that can save minutes, when seconds count. For example, a home owner can provide pet information, if handicapped residents are present, location of important home features, and more. Business owners can provide information regarding emergency contacts, hazardous materials/conditions inside their building, and more. This information is securely kept on the server's of the software provider and provided to responders when dispatched.
