2014 Chaplain Class

The class was May 19-20 in Hermitage PA

Twenty-four fire and police chaplains, clergy, emergency responders, and mental health professionals from three states completed Group Crisis Intervention, the “basic” course from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, on May 19 & 20. This sixth annual chaplain training seminar was sponsored by St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Hermitage Fire-Rescue, the Hermitage Police Department, and EMMCO West.

The two-day seminar focused on ways to help first responders (and victims) who have been involved in serious traumatic events.  Topics covered include demobilizations, defusings, and the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing.  Our instructor was Michelle Eaton, the head of the Northwest Pennsylvania CISM team.
